Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 11 June 2025  ·  Effective: 11 June 2025

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:

  • "Cortexia", "we", "us", "our" — refers to Cortexia, located at 40, Jalan SS15/4, Subang Jaya, 47500 Selangor, Malaysia.
  • "Programme" — any of the structured online learning programmes offered by Cortexia, including the AI Foundations Programme, Machine Learning Engineering Track, and Advanced AI Development & Deployment Programme.
  • "Participant", "you", "your" — any person who visits this website, submits an enquiry, or enrols in a Programme.
  • "Content" — all materials, recordings, exercises, feedback, and resources provided as part of a Programme.
  • "Agreement" — these Terms and Conditions, together with any enrolment confirmation and applicable policies.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website or submitting an enquiry, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or enrol in any Programme.

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this website or enrol in a Programme. By proceeding, you confirm that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement.

3. Programme Description

Cortexia offers three structured online programmes in AI and machine learning education:

  • AI Foundations Programme — 8 weeks, RM 600
  • Machine Learning Engineering Track — 12 weeks, RM 2,400
  • Advanced AI Development & Deployment Programme — 16 weeks, RM 4,500

Programme delivery is conducted online via live video sessions, recorded content, and written communication channels. Programmes are available to participants based in Malaysia and the surrounding region. Cortexia reserves the right to modify programme content, schedule, and delivery format between cohorts.

4. Enrolment

Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of a written confirmation from Cortexia following payment of the programme fee. Submission of an enquiry form does not constitute enrolment. Cortexia reserves the right to decline enrolment without obligation to provide a reason.

Each participant is responsible for maintaining the security of any login credentials or access links provided for programme sessions and materials.

5. User Responsibilities

As a participant, you agree to:

  • Use programme content and materials for your own personal learning only
  • Not share, distribute, resell, or publicly post session recordings, exercises, or feedback
  • Engage respectfully with mentors and other participants
  • Submit work that you have produced yourself — not work produced by others on your behalf
  • Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or programme systems

Cortexia reserves the right to remove a participant from a programme without refund if these responsibilities are materially breached.

6. Intellectual Property

All programme content — including session recordings, exercise briefs, feedback documents, and written materials — is the intellectual property of Cortexia and is protected under applicable Malaysian law.

Participants are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and use programme materials for the duration of the programme they are enrolled in. This licence does not permit redistribution, commercial use, or creation of derivative works based on Cortexia's content.

Portfolio projects created by participants during the programme remain the property of the participant. Cortexia does not claim ownership of work produced by learners.

7. Payment Terms

Programme fees are denominated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Payment details are provided upon enrolment confirmation. Fees are due prior to the programme start date unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Refund policy: Cancellations made more than 14 days before the programme start date are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made within 14 days of the start date are not eligible for a refund. If Cortexia cancels a cohort before it begins, participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to the next available cohort.

We do not offer partial refunds for participants who withdraw partway through a running programme.

8. Completion Records

Participants who complete all required elements of a programme — including exercises, code submissions, and the portfolio project — will receive a completion record from Cortexia. Completion records describe the programme attended and the curriculum covered. They do not constitute academic qualifications or accredited credentials.

Cortexia makes no representation regarding the recognition or acceptance of completion records by any employer, institution, or third party.

9. Disclaimers

Programmes are provided on an "as is" basis. While we make every reasonable effort to deliver sessions as scheduled and maintain content quality, we do not make any warranty that:

  • The programme will be free from errors or interruptions
  • Participants will achieve any particular level of skill or knowledge as a result of completing the programme
  • Completion of a programme will lead to any specific employment or career outcome

Programme content is educational in nature and does not constitute professional advice in any field.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under Malaysian law, Cortexia's liability to any participant arising from or in connection with a programme shall not exceed the total fees paid by that participant for the relevant programme.

We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, including loss of income, loss of data, or loss of opportunity, even if we were advised of the possibility of such loss.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cortexia, its mentors, staff, and associates from any claim, loss, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of programme materials.

12. Termination

Either party may terminate enrolment in a programme by providing written notice. Cortexia reserves the right to terminate a participant's enrolment without refund in the event of a material breach of these Terms.

Upon termination, your licence to access programme materials ceases immediately. Sections 6, 9, 10, and 11 of these Terms survive termination.

13. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first at [email protected] so that we can attempt to resolve the matter informally within 30 days.

If informal resolution is not reached, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

14. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with any enrolment confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and Cortexia regarding programme participation.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • Waiver: Failure by either party to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
  • Assignment: You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the website or participation in an ongoing programme after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
